Job Details

Trimac requires an individual to perform the role of Transportation Management System Administrator in one of our Service Center locations (Edmonton, Toronto, or Houston).  This term position is in support of the company’s efforts to properly maintain data integrity, standard operating procedures across the operation and to govern change over time.   These individuals will be responsible for the day-to-day IT support of the operations team.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and capable of multi-tasking and managing concurrent tasks and initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to understand, document, and share key system information with users and management.
  • Positive attitude with a strong desire to help people
  • Team player
  • Bilingual would be a definite asset but not required

Responsibilities

 

Data Stewardship

  • Manages role security and user access.
  • Manages the TMS Support Inbox and Service Now Incidents
  • Supports users of the application by troubleshooting and resolving system issues. Submits tickets to vendor support when necessary.

 

Training & Documentation

  • Provides effective training and re-training for system users and maintains accessible and up-to-date training documentation.
  • Communicates with the user base when there are changes to process or procedures.
  • Maintains up-to-date versions of application documentation, configuration settings, and approved deviations from default settings.
  • Prepares documentation with regards to modifications, troubleshooting procedures, and problem resolutions.
  • Maintains up-to-date workflow diagrams of data and inter-system dependencies.
  • Creates diagrams of the various data dependencies/feeds and ensures others are aware of how various systems/applications are interconnected and dependent upon each other.

 

System Management

  • Manages the TMS Support Inbox and Service now queue and when needed, works with IT or Vendors to resolve the issue
  • Troubleshoots all issues to the best of his/her ability. If unable to resolve the issue, works with the rest of the IT team and/or vendors until the ticket can be closed.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency within the system and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Collaborates with counterparts to manage change and follows proper governance procedures to ensure consistency of data/security/process across the operation.
  • Acts as a liaison between the business, IT and the vendor to effectively communicate in both business and technical terms.
  • Participates in system upgrades and product evaluations
  • Understands internal control requirements and ensure key controls are maintained and supported by the application.
  • Creates and maintains planning worksheet boards for the individual dispatch pods.
  • Coordinates and communicates with other team members when changes to the application will impact integrated systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of TMW Suite and/or TMT
  • Experience in Synergize, Dispatch Assist, and/or W Energy would be considered and asset
  • Advanced Excel skill level
  • Experience with SSRS reporting tool and SQL would be considered an asset
