The Wash Rack Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a tank cleaning facility, including building maintenance, equipment, personnel, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that all equipment is cleaned in accordance with company policies and industry regulations and standards while maintaining operational efficiency and safety.
• Ensure cleaning meets policies and regulatory standards.
• Manage waste disposal and chemical usage, maintaining detailed records.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure equipment operates properly.
• Implement safety protocols and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Track cleaning costs, develop budgets, and oversee billing processes.
• Hire, train, and supervise washrack staff.
• Provide ongoing training and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Keep cleaning costs within budget.
• Maintain a safe work record and competitive charge-out rates.
• Reports to Area Manager, works with the Canadian Director
• Manages Wash Rack Technicians and Laborers.
• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Post-secondary education in business management, operations, environmental science, or a related field can be beneficial, but not always required.
• 3-5 years of experience in transportation operations or facilities management, preferably in a washrack, industrial cleaning, or similar environment.
• Supervisory or leadership experience is essential, as the role involves managing personnel and coordinating tasks.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and knowledge of safety standards (such as OH&S regulations) is highly valued.
• Experience with budget management and cost control to track and manage cleaning expenses.
• Familiarity with chemical management and waste disposal processes is a plus.
