Les gestionnaires de terminaux sont le principal point de contact avec nos conducteurs professionnels et nos clients locaux. Ils sont essentiels pour que nos conducteurs disposent de tout ce dont ils ont besoin pour effectuer leur travail de manière sécuritaire et professionnelle. Ils ont également la tâche essentielle de communiquer rapidement et efficacement avec nos conducteurs pour résoudre les problèmes ou répondre à toutes les questions qu’ils peuvent avoir. Ils y parviennent grâce à la collaboration avec d’autres équipes et en servant de relais d’information avec l’entreprise.

Terminal Managers are the main touch point with our professional drivers and our local customers. They are vital in ensuring our drivers have everything they need to perform their jobs safely and professionally. They also have the critical task of timely and effective communication with our drivers to solve any problems or answer any questions they may have. They do this through the collaboration with other teams and being a conduit of information with the Company.
This role reports to an Area Manager and interacts with Company Drivers, Independent Contractors, Service Centers, management, Safety, Human Resources, and local customers.
Drivers:
Working with Recruiting and Sales departments to ensure proper driver levels based on revenue projections, new business, and projected turnover
Onboarding of new drivers, including 1st paycheck review
Supporting driver retention and working with Human Resources on initiatives based on turnover trends
Conducting 45-day interviews on new hires to determine engagement and satisfaction
Determining sustainability and long term fit of new hires prior to clearing the probationary period
Assisting on the conversion of Company Drivers to Independent Contractors
Understanding and upholding Independent Contractors’ contracts
Understanding and applying local collective bargaining agreements, where applicable
Working with Human Resources to ensure all drug & alcohol testing is completed on time, as required
Monitoring driver utility and working with the Service Centers to ensure appropriate levels
Reviewing driver pay to ensure maximum earnings, and monitoring of overtime to determine if it is more cost effective to hire additional drivers instead
Providing input on industry and local market trends on driver compensation
Reviewing, approving, and submitting for payment driver expense claims
Supporting drivers in reviewing and solving pay errors with the Service Centers and Payroll
Reviewing and approving vacation schedules and ensuring they are communicated with the Service Centers for effective dispatching
Working collaboratively with the Service Centers to ensure efficient and fair dispatching of drivers
Assisting with workflow on the Isaac on-board device
Working with Human Resources to manage sick leaves and return to work accommodations
Identifying driver training and certification requirements to ensure drivers can be safely dispatched, and ensuring the appropriate support is identified and provided for proper completion of the same
Ensuring compliance with company policies & procedures
Hosting regular terminal meetings and attending company meetings representing the terminal
Rewarding and recognizing drivers for behaviour that supports our culture
Planning and hosting driver appreciation events
Performance management and annual performance reviews of drivers, including the setting of measurable goals
Working with Human Resources regarding progressive discipline and termination of drivers, when required
Responding to and creating solutions for driver complaints or concerns
Coaching and mentoring drivers with an emphasis on open communication
Safety:
Collaborating with the Safety Trainer and attending all safety meetings
Ensuring the terminal is organized, clean and free of safety hazards
Providing back up support on reviewing Drivecam events with the Safety Trainers
Conducting regular Ride Alongs with drivers
Customers:
Staying connected with and responding to concerns of local customers
Grow our local customer based through outstanding market knowledge
Equipment:
Ensuring we have the correct amount of assets at the facility to properly handle all business opportunities
Work directly with Shop and Washrack operation to expediate the fleet readiness.
High School Diploma required
Requires a minimum of five (5) years of management/operations experience in the transportation business
Bilingual in French and English
