Job Details

As a Dispatcher at Feldspar, you'll be the key connection between our drivers, customers, and internal teams. You'll communicate load plans, ensure safety and compliance, and support operational efficiency. This role is essential to maintaining smooth logistics and customer satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity for the candidate that wants to grow professionally in the transportation industry.

 

This role reports to a Terminal Manager and interacts with Company Drivers, Independent Contractors, back-office functions and customers.

Responsibilities

Driver Operations

  • Ensure drivers have the proper instructions to work safely and address any concerns.
  • Ensure drivers have adequate time to perform duties safely and within regulations.
  • Assign the proper equipment for the jurisdiction and the job requirements.

Safety & Compliance

  • Partner with Safety as well as the shop to ensure drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
  • Where applicable, audit TMW reports for compliance requirements.

Customer Relations

  • Responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers.
  • Meet customer requirements and ensure any changes are communicated.
  • Raise opportunities to increase efficiency for both the terminal and the customer.

Fleet & Equipment

  • Record data in the dispatch system data in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Ensure invoicing and driver pay are completed daily.
  • Ensure service failures are brought to the attention of the Terminal Manager or designate.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/ GED required. 
  • 2-3 years of related experience in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
