Job Details

Reporting to the VP, Operations Northwest, the Area Manager is responsible for the overall management of Trimac’s Northwest Operations. The primary focus of this role is to achieve strong financial results and drive new business growth.

 

Key internal relationships include Branch and Regional Managers, Senior Operating Vice Presidents, and head office support teams. Key external relationships include existing and prospective customers, as well as senior representatives from other transportation companies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the effective utilization of facilities, equipment, and manpower within the area.
  • Identify, develop, and evaluate new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with existing customers to optimize and integrate their supply chains.
  • Maintain the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in all business activities.
  • Proactively seek new revenue streams that align with and enhance Trimac’s operations.
  • Monitor economic conditions, business factors, and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities, recommending appropriate actions when needed.
  • Lead, train, and develop Area staff to achieve operational and strategic goals.
  • Support the development and execution of area business plans, programs, and forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in operations management, transportation, or logistics.
  • Experience in bulk and/or hazardous commodities is desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate individuals and foster teamwork.
  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Skilled in presenting information effectively to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, including proficiency in statistics and mathematics.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capable of interpreting technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and working with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Committed to developing a safety-focused environment aligned with company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security policies.
