Job Details

Reporting to a Branch Manager, a Loader loads trucks trailers and railcars with various products for shipment.  

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining product inventory levels for sit storage 
  • Preventing contamination of products 
  • Performing safety inspections on equipment.  Ensuring that tanks are secure, and that no product will be contaminated, or leak while stationary or in transit 
  • Ensuring that all products unloaded at the facility is unloaded into the proper storage silo 
  • Checking and securing dome lids on truck trailers and railcars 
  • Maneuvering equipment into position to load at shipper 
  • Inventory control 
  • Maintaining and repairing all loading and unloading equipment to ensure safe and proper transfer of product 
  • Ensuring that storage silos and loading and unloading areas are clean, safe and free of uncontaminated product 
  • Loading the trailer at the shipper 
  • Completing all necessary paperwork verifying accuracy of shipping papers 
  • Spotting pre-loaded trailers on site 
  • Weighing loaded vehicles, checking for legal gross and axle weight (bridge laws) 

Qualifications

  • May work above shoulder level with power and /or hand tools weighing 40lbs pounds or less.
  • Must meet physical requirements of the position and have mobility, vision, hearing, and sense of smell and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties performed.
  • May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 40lbs or less.
  • Able to pass all required railway operating rules examinations.
